Shoe Story

I have been wearing this pair of walking shoes for about 17 months, everyday, without fail. These shoes have been to quite a lot of adventures with me. I wear them wherever I go.

Originally from Hong Kong, they spent a short time in Malaysia before they embarked on the journey to Australia with me. I have brought them to many places in Australia. They've been to the city, countryside, supermarkets, restaurants, barbecue, picnic, zoo, aquarium, sanctuary, beach, ponds etc. They protected me from countless kangaroo droppings. They accidentally went into a muddy creek but came out looking the same white and pink colour. They learned dancing. They wandered in the zoo for hours. They brought me through thorny bushes and rocky roads. They went rock climbing and gold digging. They chased dragonflies, beetles, wasps and other bugs with me.

My shoes! They are only 17 months old, yet they look like 10 years old.
I don't feel like throwing them despite I got a blister at the back of my foot now. Maybe the way I walk is too rough which causes both our surfaces to wear off. @@" Can they last a few more months?

Homecooked Dinner of the Month

It was a usual hectic day for me with Dogathon just around the corner. In the evening, I went down to my relative's house to get some stuffs. Can feel the happy feeling of not needing to cook and have a nice homecooked dinner at the end of the day. Nasi lemak!!! With avocado salad. Lol. Mixture of asian and western. 

Western mushroom soup made by my uncle. It was so nice until I can't help finishing the whole pot. Lol!
 After dinner, my eyes wanted to close so badly, but I still sat there and watched tv as I haven't been watching big screen tv for months. Zzzzz.....

Out From Jurassic Era

For a non-keen phone user like me, I never used to carry my phone in my hand. Few days ago, I accidentally dropped my phone in a tram and I didn't realise it until I wanted to call someone and can't find it anywhere in my bag nor pocket. O.O!! Goodbye my 2.5 years Nokia...

My friends have been waiting for me to change phone for a very long time. Finally I have a valid reason to convince myself to get a new one. If I haven't lost my Nokia, I think they will have to wait another 5 more years for me to change my phone. Lol.

I couldn't get iPhone 4S because it's too new to get it for free even with a plan. So I got this Samsung Galaxy SII without topping up. My first touch screen phone!

My phone with my panda tissue box. It is a bit big.

And I got a free case too. Now I don't need to always use my camera to take pictures. This is so much more convenient.
Finally I'm out of the Jurassic era. I looked like a cave woman when I was exploring the phone and the apps, which made my friend laughed like no tomorrow. @@" I also wanted to laugh  myself for looking like a monkey in front of the phone. Anyway, I got watsapp now and it's time to chat! =D

Jack of All Trades is the Master of None

Saying goodbye to my tutoring role. First time ever, my timetable and my to-do-list are so full until I have to sacrifice one of them to make some spaces for myself to breathe. After thorough weighing of priorities, tutoring ended up to be the least useful compared to other things that I'm doing now.

I just realized knowing your limits is important. Although everything seems important and volunteering is, in fact, always useful and looks beautiful on resume. However, I find that it's also a bad idea to accept and do too much and ended up lesser focus on each of them and screw everything. x.x

First Anniversary

What I had during the coldest week of the year: mee rebus from Malaymas. Eventhough this one is no where near the Bon Bon's mee rebus neither my uncle's mee rebus, but it's good enough to temporarily satisfy myself.

Writer's Block Cafe is my uni's best cafe as they make the best coffee and hot chocolate, and also banana bread! There are people purposely walk to uni, without any classes on the day, plus raining, just to get a cup of coffee from here. Swt. I'm not too overly crazy of the drink. Usually I will see who is the barista of the day first as I only like that particular guai lou barista who makes awesome hot chocolate. Lol. I was so happy to see that whole loaf of banana bread because most of the time there's none left when I wanted to get one. So this is my hot chocolate and toasted banana bread with butter on a cold, windy and rainy day. So syok. XD

Regarding to the title, today marks my first anniversary as a zoo guide. Didn't even realize that until other people mentioned it. I can see the zoo changing a bit here and there over the year. Old ones left us and new ones joined in and some of them got brand new home. Besides the animals, I also get excited every time when I got the chance to talk to the keepers, especially keepers from the Wild Seas area. It's a great pleasure to volunteer at the zoo and it is the best thing I have ever done so far in Melbourne.
Once again, Happy 1st anniversary to my green uniform and my name badge!! =D
