Fiesta Malaysia Melbourne 2012

Every year, there will be a Fiesta Malaysia held in Melbourne but so far I haven't been there before as I tend to either forget or being lazy. So I went to check it out this year. I went after my zoo guiding, along with some friends, for the Penang Food Festival session. I was putting very high expectation in this event since a lot of people said that it's a very fun and big event. When we reached there, I've got a really big sweat on my head. This was how it looked like. One picture is enough to describe all.

I was expecting to be as crowded as a busy market with many Penang food hawker stalls. Fine. Let's try their food. It's $5 for a coupon and all the food cost $5. The first thing we tried was char kuey teow. I think the cook wasn't from Penang, but it's the students here that cooked it instead. Other than the palm-sized portion, this was the most horrible char kuey teow that I've ever eaten. Fail terribly. Luckily I didn't use my coupon to get it.

For my coupon, I used it on the Penang Hokkien mee. I was still wondering did they print the card wrongly. It said Hokkien mee but the food looked like prawn mee. Then only I know that prawn mee is equals to Penang Hokkien mee. Lol. The lady is from Penang, so the taste of the Hokkien mee was not bad. Acceptable. Just that I find my $5 not worth for that palm-sized portion. I felt nothing. It's more like a snack instead.

This roti canai man can't stop showing off his roti flipping talent. Lol! No angmo watching la pakcik, all Malaysians here and they just wanted to eat! Haha...

Guess I can just stay at home and have my nice nap next time. Super disappointed with the event.

Abbotsford Convent

Lol... this post is abit outdated. I went to the Abbotsford Convent few weeks ago with some friends. It's like an evening market with many food stalls and also other accessories stalls as well. This place has totally got the western atmosphere which can make you feel like you're really in a western country.

Free sangria. It's wine mixed with a bit of fruit. That's why it's not too bitter.

Wandered around the place, taking pictures.

People can also bring their dogs along and chill at the beautiful garden/park.

A bit of entertainment.

This market is a nice place to spend a Friday evening without feeling too crowded.

Bun Bun

Meet the new addition in the house, Bun Bun the rabbit!!

So cuteee!! First time playing with a rabbit. I always remind myself that he's not a dog! So have to be extra gentle. He's so neat. Only pee and poop in his cage.

Lastly, he's very pervert too. Lol. XD

Oriental Spoon

There's a nice Korean restaurant called Oriental Spoon located at La Trobe Street and it's always packed during dinner time eventhough the restaurant is big in size. We started off with some appetizers. Fried tofu.

Assorted mushroom salad. I love this dish to the max. It's the bestest salad I've eaten. I always feel hungry whenever I look at this picture.

Besides kimchi, chap chae is another must when we're having Korean food.

Chicken bulgogi. It's nice but a bit too much. I saw other people's dish came in a mountain-shaped. @@"

Will come back next time to try other things. :D

Sunbaking At The Zoo

One of my rare day when I went to the zoo not in my uniform. I went to the zoo as a normal visitor with some friends few days ago. I didn't take many pictures though.

We went to the seal keeper's talk as I highly recommended it to them. Lol. This is Tarwin throwing rubbish. She is soooo cute!! I like the way she waves her flippers. Like drawing a circle. I've seen this many times and still enjoyed it everytime. =D

Penguin keeper's talk. Cute as always.

This bearded dragon is so cute! First time seeing this cute pose. Lol.

The giant tortoise came so close to us until we can pat it. Not sure how old is this one but I'm sure it's a lot older than anyone of us who is reading this.

Another hot sunny day and also another tanning day. Going to become 'sakai' soon.
