Darebin Chinese Moon Festival 2012

Went volunteering for Moon Festival organised by Darebin Council and La Trobe Confucius Institute. I was curious about the event and also never celebrated Mid Autumn Festival in Australia before, so went there just to check it out.

The super olden days Chinese characters.

Calligraphy.

Calligraphy drawing.

More drawings.

We didn't have much to help out. So most of us spent the time with the shifu and played around with calligraphy. That's Tommy writing his Chinese name. He's a Norwegian learning Mandarin and Japanese. Occasionally I can see him volunteering at some events as well and always surprise people by blurting out a  sentence in Mandarin. Lol.

Can't remember when was my last calligraphy writing. This is not bad considered that I haven't been touching this for ages.

Lion dance! Y U NO WEAR LION PANTS?! Swt.

Traditional Chinese dance.

And traditional Chinese singing.

The event was alright as I wasn't interested in the performances at all. But I'm happy enough to get a free mooncake. Lol.
