Trip to Sheep Farms

Back to blogging! Went to two sheep farms at Western Victoria for my final field trip of the semester. The first farm was located at Ballarat and glad that the vet farmers invited us into their house because it rained the next minute. Saw this field of yellow flowers during the journey.

The second farm was located at Quamby, Ararat. This is the shaving house.

Sheep!!!! So cute!!! They are a lot noisier than cows. Lol.

My first time seeing a kelpie. It's an Australian sheepdog.

These are mixed breed sheep. They kept pushing each other. So cute! The producers are using modern technology now to just scan the sheep tag using a device or iPhone as they walk. So they don't need to flip through record books to find the particular sheep details.

It was 21 degrees Celsius the day before in Melbourne, but the next day, it was only 8 degrees Celsius at Western Victoria and about 10 degrees in Melbourne. The temperature shock, plus the bloody strong freezing wind, were making us huddling close together. And I was only wearing a t shirt and a jacket. Lol! I know the weather over here is always having PMS, and it's getting more interesting.

This jack russell didn't seem cold at all and was happily running around the huge paddock.

With almost 6 hours of travelling time, it's so nice to sleep in the bus under this weather. Zzzz...
