Zoo Graduation

Finally, the 10th Sunday has arrived. It's time for my assessment in the zoo. The first part was tour guiding. We can choose an area in the zoo to do our 1 hour tour. I've chosen the African Rainforest Precinct (gorillas!! :D) and the Wildseas Precinct for backup. Sometimes I felt a bit nervous and lost some of the facts that I wanted to say and also made my english even more cacated. @@"

The second part of the assessment has taken the whole afternoon. This part required us to talk to the visitors. We did this at 5 different locations and 25 minutes each location. It was so much tougher than doing a tour, especially I was being watched and assessed. Can feel the pressure. Pengsan... I guess my eyes were like a predator looking for preys, hungry for visitors. Not only visitors, I was hungry for NICE visitors, to be precise. I always hesitate for a long time if I am to approach people like this. What happened was I looked at them for a few minutes and kept thinking: 'talk to them, talk to them, talk to them, JUST TALK!!!' In the end, they walked away. @@.

Really have to learn to choose visitors. The people that I approached in that 3 hours were:

20% thinking: 'who are you to talk to me?!' (because I didn't have a uniform);
20% being very mean (made the 25 minutes feel like 25 years x.x);
30% just being nice and gave me one-word reply: 'oh' (at least they said thank you in the end, better than nothing);
30% that were seriously very nice to chat with (just any one of them can already make my day, I think I should be the one who thank them. haha. :D).

After that second part, I was very exhausted. Glad that it's all over. The reults? I PASSED!! Woohoo~~ The trainers were very happy with all of us. In the evening, they've got a small party for us. This is my classroom where I spent the past 10 Sundays and I will miss it after that.

These cupcakes were so nice! I only had two. Should have grabbed more. :p

One of my classmate made this big beautiful card for our trainers and 31 of our names were signed on it.

They also made a gorilla cake for the trainers and they were very surprised. So cute. Lol. Wouldn't want to cut it.

The trainers, who have produced that encyclopedia-like guide manual. They have taken good care of us throughout the course. :D

I am now an official guide in the zoo! Yay!

Finally, a class photo. The 2011 batch! So many of us until a few of them can't fit into the picture. Aiks. But maybe the main camera was able to capture all of us. Omg, I looked like a little girl in the picture. Swt!!

Who is coming to the zoo?? I'm happy to take them around!! :DDD
