Kitties

Haven't been blogging about any of my prac this semester. This is just because this semester's pracs aren't that super interesting or special to talk about. So just talk about this genetics report that we are going to do soon. All of us have to take a picture of a cat and upload it into the Genetics Department website with all the details such as location and genotypes.

So here is my cat picture and I named him Nemo! xD

After that, we will score the data and then do a report on it (population genetics). That's why we need a lot of cats around this area to do this report. I've just uploaded the picture and I'm already number 386 in the record. @@"

This is actually a project that has been running successfully at Lincoln University in USA. The students there have allowed us to use their data for practice analysis and our data will be used by students at Lincoln.

Anyway, genetics is still not very fun with all the confusing terms. I wonder how can some students who haven't done biology before be able to familiarise themselves with so many new terms in a short period of time. I also can pengsan.

Why can't we do population genetics on dogs? Hehe... xD
